Welcome back once again, and we are excited about the opportunity to come and talk with you about another exciting devotion that we have to share with you today. This one is Dr. J's thoughts on struggling with the brokenness of failure, struggling with the brokenness of failure. Romans 8 and 28 says, and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. May God add a blessing to the reading of his word and we thank you and acknowledge that it was read in the NIV version. As you read today's devotion and as I encourage you, every time I have the privilege to come and be with you, don't only listen to what I have to share with you today, please follow up with reading today's devotion and sharing with me how God has spoken to you in relationship to the subject matter. God is moving in such a time as this, and we're excited about the movement of God. As we deal with our devotion topic today, struggling with the brokenness of failure, in the myths of failure, you're going to read that I wrote, it's not what you know, but what you do consistently that shapes your destiny and your future success. I want to share that one more time and I'm going to not only quote it, I'm going to read it. In the myths of failures, it is not what you know, but what you do consistently that shapes your destiny and your future success. You know, it's important, the things that we create as habits. There are many things that I could quote at this time regarding habitual behavior and it's important when it is a healthy and right thing to do under the auspices of God. But what I want to focus on today is to say to you that failure is a springboard for learning new lessons about life. For so many years, many of us have taken our failures and not understood that it was an opportunity to learn how to do better, not just a place of looking at where you did not achieve what you desire to achieve. Sometimes, most of our growth and development comes in the midst of our brokenness and not in the midst of our success. Most of our new insight and awareness comes from the valley experiences of life and not from the mountaintop experiences of life. And so I want to encourage you today that as you read today's devotional, that you read it with that attitude of gratitude to say, whether it's success or not, I'm going to trust in God and know that he is a way maker and a revelator and that he's making a way out of no way for there to be success, even if I'm not experiencing it now. I trust God and I know him as my savior and I know that he only wants the best for me. So I want to encourage you that as you look at the struggling in the midst of brokenness and failure, that you look at the different steps that I have outlined here. And I'm not going to go into them, but I am going to share them with you. Step one, embrace the power of consistency. Step two, learn to grow from failure. Step three, trust in divine timing, God's timing, not Kronos, but Kairos, God's timing. Seek opportunities for comeback. Your stumbling blocks are a building block for you to step up to higher heights and deeper depths. Your failures, as it would be called, is truly the starting point for your comeback story. And I'm not going to steal the thunder of what I have written here. I want you to go read about the comeback story under step four. Step five, harness the power of unity. You want to check that out. And you also want to check out to understand that when you are struggling, when you are feeling that frustration for not having achieved what you desire, don't let that be your hold up. Convert that into energy that says, I'm not going to allow anything to stop me from my destiny. I want you to read about being active, be actively, be active, set selfishly, be active selfishly. I want you to read that. And then I want you to also read the final one. Avoid the spirit of criticism, whether it's criticizing yourself or criticizing someone else. If what you're thinking isn't helping you to lift yourself from where you are to where you want to be, then discard it for what it's worth. Because when you think about what it's worth, it ain't much. So don't let it hold you down. If what you're thinking is not helping you and you know is hurting you, let it go. And trust in God with all your heart. Lean not just on your own understanding, but in all your ways in Proverbs 3, 5 and 6, let him direct your path and you'll reach the other side of what you're experiencing. You will find opportunities for growth, opportunity for newness, opportunity for strength, opportunity to do what you have never done. This is Dr. J. And I truly hope you have a super fantastic day.
