Hello, and it's so nice to be back here with you once again, where we can in fact share a devotional, a scripture reading, a reflection on the writing that I have in fact done as a devotional. And I look forward to you reading the devotional and being able to share your feedback. Today's devotional is entitled, The Power of Forgiveness. The Power of Forgiveness. Our scripture reading is Ephesians, the fourth chapter, verse 32, coming from the NIV version. It says, Be kind and compassionate to one another. Forgive each other, just as Christ God forgave you. As you know, forgiving can be a tough topic. Some would tell you that forgetting is a state of the mind. Forgetting is a state of the heart. Some would challenge you to understand that forgiveness is the key to action and freedom. But I hope that you will take time to read this devotional as I do each and every one on every day. But this is an important one because it provides some profound aspects for understanding the importance of transformation within the power of forgiveness through the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It gives some insight that as you begin to look at how to have victory in the midst of hurt, pain, betrayal, and all form of anguish and confusion, it gives that understanding that forgetting is important. But forgiveness isn't about simply forgetting. It's not about pressing it down and acting like it didn't happen. Forgiveness is many times about not re-victimizing the victim. It's about understanding that sometimes the forgiving is about setting yourself free as opposed to holding on to that which truly did happen to you. But do you deserve to be re-victimized or can we in fact realize that when we can truly cast our cares upon the Lord, when we can truly get to the point that we can process our emotions historically, currently, in the midst of where we are, whether we're feeling suicidal or feeling homicidal or feeling all manner of things that I won't articulate, but that you understand fully, can you agree that it's important to be able to cast your cares upon the Lord, release the anguish, release the pain, and understand that finding that person that you can talk to, not just the Lord, but yes, to the Lord, but finding that help that's needed can become key to you walking in liberty and finding your joy, your purpose that you so rightly deserve. God bless you. The power of forgiveness is about setting yourself free to live again. And I encourage you to do this with a determination and a faith in Jesus Christ. God bless you.
