Hey, Faith-Based Family, this is part two of what I'm calling Pleasure Commands, and it comes from Ephesians chapter 5 verse 11. And again, I was just trying to communicate that some of the commands the Lord gives us are so beautiful. For example, He commands us to rest, He invites us to rest, but He knows what's in our best interest. In Ephesians 5 11, we're commanded, it says, be filled with the Holy Spirit. And I know that this can be a touchy topic across denominations, but I want to make sure that we know that the Trinity is not God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Bible. I lived like that, unfortunately, for years. The Trinity is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And here in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 11, we're commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit. What a beautiful command. This is a better command than if they're like, Adam, I command you to go to the sushi buffet, and I love a good sushi buffet. He commands us to be filled. We know that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there's freedoms. It's a command for freedom. In the presence, there's joy. So what a beautiful command. But the interesting thing is that this command in Ephesians chapter 5, in the original Greek, has four things that we should note. First, it is an imperative, so meaning it's a command. It's not a suggestion. It's a command to be filled. And then the second part is it's plural, meaning it's for us together, collectively, corporately, collaboratively, to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The third part is is that it's a passive. Be filled. So it's a receiving. And there has to be a posturing of our hearts and a seeking, of course, but it's a receiving. And then the fourth part is that it's a continuous process. Keep being filled. It's a continuous action. Keep being filled. What a beautiful command. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. What a wonderful thing. Remember that Jesus said, it's one of my favorite verses in John 16, he says to his disciples, he's about to leave, it is to your advantage that I leave. You know the disciples were like, how in the world could it be to our advantage for you to leave, Jesus? And he says, because if I don't leave, the Holy Spirit won't come. The Holy Spirit better be pretty amazing for it to be advantageous for Jesus to leave, and the Holy Spirit is that amazing. So would you be encouraged? He's inviting you to be filled more and more with his Spirit, with his presence. Blessings and love to you today.
