Hey, faith-based family and friends. Blessed to see you today. Hey, I'm gonna do a two-part series. I'll do part one right now, and it's on what I call pleasure commands. Wouldn't it be amazing if, like, the Lord commanded you, He said, go eat ice cream, right? You'd be like, alright, this is the best command. Or go kiss your wife, or go kiss your husband, ladies. Wouldn't you be like, what a great command? Thank you, Lord. There are commands that I call pleasure commands that are even more beautiful than the command to go eat ice cream, or go on vacation, or kiss your spouse. I've noticed, maybe having lived abroad and coming back to the U.S., in the U.S., we tend to worship productivity. And I have a very high value for productivity, of course. I love being productive. It makes me feel good about myself. I love making lists. I love getting things done, checking them off. I love making strategies. I really love productivity. But I say that in that I've noticed in the U.S., we have a temptation to worship productivity. Obviously, worshiping anything other than the Lord is wrong, but what I mean is that we get our identity and our value from productivity. And Scripture does say things about productivity, of course. You know, we love to grab that verse, he who doesn't work doesn't eat, right? We'll grab that verse and throw it at someone. But how much more do the Scriptures talk about resting? So much more in comparison to productivity. Said the Lord, He is pleased with diligence, absolutely. But the pleasure command is that He invites us to come to Him and to rest. Isn't that beautiful? That Jesus says it. Come all who are weary and find rest. It's all throughout the Scriptures. One of my favorite Psalms is Psalm 62. It says, My soul finds rest in God alone. My salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation. I just want to encourage you to know that His commandments are in our best interest. He's showing us our need for a Savior, but He's also wanting to protect us from the consequences of sin, from damaging ourselves and others in our testimony. But He wants what's best for us. And just receive this pleasure command that He's inviting you to rest. He's inviting you to peace. He's inviting you into intimacy, which is filled with the fruits of the Spirit, with freedom. Blessings to you today. I hope that you just feel more convinced than ever that the Lord desires good for you, is with you, and for you. Have a great day.
