Faithbase

Good morning. We are thinking about the Bible and in this series thinking about love and today we're talking about love never loses faith, never loses trust or always trusts. That's in verse 7b, 1 Corinthians 13. Now this is something I think we need to think about, look at a little bit differently because never losing faith in this case I believe is talking about we don't lose faith that the Lord Jesus Christ will continue to work in the life of that loved one and this too again can go globally because we don't lose faith that God is at work in his creation, that he's doing things in the lives of people. We don't understand how he does all this but there's this thing we call common grace or is often called common grace where God is at work in the lives of everyone in this world and his will shall be done. So we don't lose faith so that co-worker who maybe is not a Christian we don't lose faith that God as we pray for them, hopefully you are doing that, praying for their salvation that we trust that God will bring them to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a personal saving relationship. So love doesn't lose faith. Now when we come back to the individual person we also continue to trust and to have faith that they're going to move forward, that they're going to put forth the effort to move forward in Christ-likeness. Again we're talking about folks who do know know the Lord Jesus Christ at this point but I think that's part of the aspect of love that again we're supportive. We don't give up on someone like we talked about the other day. We always protect them. We always want to be sure that we are doing everything we can to uphold them in their movement forward in Christ-likeness. So that's where the faith comes in. We have faith that the Lord will continue to work as we continue to pray for them and ask that the Lord will complete his good work in their life. So we're thinking about the Bible, we're thinking about love. Thanks again for being here and I look forward to tomorrow. We're going to wrap this up in a couple more days and in the future we'll be thinking about some other things in the Bible and I'll announce that I already have in mind. Well I guess I can tell you right now. We're going to be thinking about the Ten Commandments next and how those actually, I mean, are they valid for today? Are they something that we need to worry about? And if they are, how do they figure into the life of the Christian? So that'll be down the road a few days from now. But for now thinking about love, we never lose faith. We always trust that God will continue to work in the lives of those that we have relationship with and we pray for them, hopefully, on a daily basis. See you again tomorrow.
