Good morning. Thinking about love again today and thinking about the Bible. Love never gives up. 1 Corinthians 13 7a. Love never gives up and I got to tell you right now this is extremely important. Jesus doesn't give up on us either. Now if we're gonna be like the Lord Jesus Christ and show love in the way that he does for us, we don't give up on folks. Again this is used the close relationships we have. Spouse, siblings, parents, whatever, your best friend and they might do something, they might do a lot of things that you think, what is wrong with them? I'm done with this. I don't want anything more to do with this person. I'm tired of it. Love never gives up. Now love doesn't just sit back and do nothing. To do what's most beneficial for the other person, as I mentioned earlier a couple, I don't know how many days ago it was, but we talked about love is doing what most benefits the other person, even at great cost to myself. And so love doesn't give up. It doesn't sit around and do nothing. It actually can actively, should and does actively express love, we should I should say, by helping another person move forward in their walk with Jesus Christ. But love doesn't give up. I don't care what someone does, we don't give up on them. I want you to think about this because we tend to think, well if they go this far, I'm done. If they, heaven forbid, committed murder or something, I'm done. If they were unfaithful to me, I'm done. But love doesn't give up. Now I'm not saying there wouldn't be changes in the relationship, but you can't stop loving someone. No matter what happens, you don't give up on them. You continue to express love to them. There, as again, there might be some change in the relationship. Many couples that I've talked with, my wife and I've spoken with, who, where there has been unfaithfulness, they have split up. But they don't hate each other, or at least they shouldn't. What they should do is continue to show love and not give up on that person. And as they best can in this new way the relationship is expressed, show love to them. And that might be kind of an extreme situation, but I use that example because I want you to understand that me, you, all of us who claim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior must be like the Lord in that we do not give up on those who disappoint us. We do not give up on those who continually fail to live up to the standard of Jesus Christ or live up to a standard that we think they should. But love never gives up. Always is looking for the way to do what's most beneficial for that other person. Thanks for being here this morning.
