Faithbase

Hello and it's a privilege to come by way of introduction to basically introduce myself and we'll be coming to you as a part of the faith-based ministry team. I'm elated to have been selected as one of the pastors that will be privileged to minister to you on a daily basis through the Word of God and we're going to share a little bit about me and my background and so you'll get to know me a little bit and as we go on in time we'll get to know one another even more. I am married to Dr. Paulette Jordan. She is the director for a Bakke University's graduate program and scholar practitioner within her own rights. We have three children. Our oldest is the CEO of Connecticut's only freestanding mental institution in Middletown, Connecticut and our middle child is actually in medical school on her way to finishing up the internship and will be starting residency soon. Our son, we are blessed and privileged to have him home with us and so we are truly living the dream and thanking God for all these many manifolds of blessings. In addition to talking about my family, a little bit about me. I've spent 30 years in military service, spent 24 as a chaplain and then six years enlisted, both two years in Marine Corps enlisted and four years in the Army enlisted. So we added all together 30 years of military service. My background academically is that I started out earning for undergrad both a teaching degree in 1984 and then followed by in 1985 we earned a social work degree and then continued on and earned a Master's of Divinity. Both the undergrad and social work degree is from San Francisco State University. The Master's in Divinity is from Pacific School of Religion and we have been blessed of the Lord to earn a PhD in religious studies and education from Columbia Pacific University and that was in 1988 I think we finished that or 89 and then in 2006 we earned a PhD from Capella University in the area of human services and psychology with that emphasis in counseling and doing that therapeutic thing and then 10 years later in 2016 we earned a doctorate of education from North Central University and so you can tell that I've spent quite a bit of times in the halls of academia and know a little bit something something about academic warfare one could say as well as spiritual warfare and so we're here to serve in excellence we have a passion for excellence in all that we do and want to encourage you to look forward as I am to our daily encounters and daily engagements so that we can learn and grow together in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That tells a little bit about my background I'm looking forward to learning more about you but in the meantime remember that God's not finished blessing you. By the way I think I mentioned that my full name is Dr. Stephen Jordan but I go by Dr. J and so in addition to that you will find that the thoughts that we do on a daily basis will be entitled Dr. J's thoughts and I truly hope they're a blessing to you.
