Um, you know, we're walking through the Lord's prayer and I don't really think of Americans in general as obsessive planners, but when I really begin to consider how much we let tomorrow rule our thoughts, it's actually pretty astounding that how much we think about and consider the future. So I'm going to talk to you a little bit more about the future and how we can more than we're here in this present moment, whole industries and organizations run on year planning, five year plans, 10 year plans. You know, uh, when I was working with colleges and universities, we're always thinking four months out, how do we get all of these things done in the space of a semester? What do we need to wait till next semester? How do we plan for the next year? So we're thinking about nine months ahead today, all the time, all the time. And, and here in this prayer, Jesus is saying, give us each day our daily bread. I think it's interesting, isn't it? That he doesn't say like, you know, give me the bread I need for this week. Give me the bread I need for this season, for summer, for all of summer, you know, all of winter Lord provide for my, for my family all summer long. No, he says, give us today our daily bread. If anything, I think Jesus is inviting us to live in this present moment and to know that God cares about you today. He cares about your needs today. Your needs today. What do you need today? God cares. And he's listening. He's inviting us to prayer every single day to ask for what we need for today. And maybe that's food. Maybe you're, you're concerned about where your next meal is coming from. Maybe it's housing. Maybe you need to find a place to sleep tonight. Maybe you need a little bit of peace. Maybe you need some guidance. God hears you. He knows your needs today and he's right with you right now. You scroll down, read a little bit, stay in it. People, Jesus hears you and knows you.
