Greetings, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Pastor David Eric Williams, and I'm going to be your host for this video devotional series that I'm calling Thinking About the Bible. I've been a pastor and chaplain for around 34 years, been married for 41 years. My wife and I have nine children, and at this point we have 13 grandchildren. In this devotional series, I'll be drawing on that background, on that experience, but I've also had experience as a counselor and a teacher in a wide variety of settings, not just the church or at the regional medical center where I work as well, but also I've worked in the prison setting, worked in the community setting as a counselor. And so all of those things will be used, will be drawn upon as we look to God's word and learn to think as God would have us to think. Paul says that we should not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, and what that means is that we change the way we think. God wants us to think His thoughts after Him, and His thoughts are given us in the Holy Bible. I look forward to this time each morning as we look to the scripture and have a thought for the day, an idea for the day that we can think about throughout that day and then to put into practice as we interact with other people. And I know that you and I both want to grow in Christlikeness, so I hope that throughout this series you will not only be participating in the daily devotional, daily devotional, but also be remembering to pray, to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to make real in your life His word and His way of thinking. So thank you for joining me here at Thinking About the Bible, and I pray that each day will be of great benefit to you as we consider the things that God would have us to think, the ways that God would have us to act, and all the things that we should do in order to bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you. I'll see you soon.
