Hey Eli here and I wanted to share with you guys today 2nd Corinthians chapter 10 verse 5. It says we destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God and Take every thought captive to obey Christ I love this verse because it talks about in the present tense Take every we destroy like as if we are right us off right alongside the author and we're listening as it could be applicable today that we're supposed to still do these things even today that we're supposed to take arguments and opinions which are Subjective truth meaning it depends on the person the experience their history on the situation which means it could be any type of Argument or opinion that may seem to be real and valid and true But it's not because it's hinges on The person or experience which means it's not the absolute truth the knowledge of God We recognize it to be the absolute truth. I mean There's nothing that can come against the knowledge of God There's nothing that can be even a comparison because the knowledge of God doesn't change It doesn't depend on a person's circumstance. It doesn't depend on their experience or history or it depends It's not relative. It's not for some know It's for all the cross equalized everything for all and it's by God's standards Not our standards and even every lofty opinion I love the how it says lofty and even various translations says lofty and when I think of that I think anything that tries to be my God anything that tries to be my idol anything that tries to replace Itself with the knowledge of God, you know, that's the lofty opinion It's a haughty and mighty like oh, this is a better way But when in fact it is not I how it says rate, you know that we are supposed to do these things Every single day do not put your guard down because there's arguments and opinions Coming from all sides from the enemy from the world from even in our own critic, you know critical self-talk We try to replace God in so many different ways and how it says against the knowledge of God How it's how all these arguments and opinions It's taking a position of attack against the knowledge of God against the knowledge of God and you as you the Word of God is Written in on your heart. So I have to take a strong stance back. I can't just be unguarded Relaxed about it I need to be on guard and ready to fight back and now even here where it says take every thought Captive to obey Christ. It's basically us having it's not basically it is I have the authority I have the authority has been given to me by the blood of Jesus Christ to take these thoughts every argument every opinion everything against the kingdom of God and the knowledge of God and then make it take a captive and to make it obey to Christ and how that looks like for us we take the thoughts we take our Ideas that sometimes come against the Word of God and how the Holy Spirit convicts us and guides us I say that's not exactly right. So we go to the Word of God and we say God What is your what is your words say about this? What does it say about about me dating? What does it say about me about this specific topic that's happening in the media? What does it say about with this doubt that I have in my heart? And we take it and we take it use it as a reflection onto the Word of God and allow the Word of God To speak for itself. I love this quote from CS Lewis and to wrap it up His quote is the Word of God is like a lion. That isn't an open cage You just need to stand out of its way and it will come out by itself Do you don't need to add anything you need to do anything else because the lion in the cage obviously wants to come out and The Word of God is alive and living and Jesus and the Heavenly Father wants to speak with you even till this day I hope this word of the day encourages you follow Message me and I can't wait to hear from you guys about your thoughts about 2nd Corinthians chapter 10 verse 5 God bless
