Hey, good morning everybody. Continue our studying of Psalms 23 1. The other day we looked at the very beginning of verse 1. Now let's look at all of it. Psalms 23 verse 1. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. See, a lot of times when we think of that word want, we actually kind of replace the word need or wants the things that we want in this world. Be very careful of any theological pastor or teacher that tells us just because you want it, God's going to give it. And if you want it enough, and if you do enough, and you sow this seed and do these things, God's going to give it to you. Listen, I've got six kids and I understand you, if you love your children, you don't give them everything they want because sometimes they're not mature enough and ready enough for that thing. And if you gave it to them, it would hurt them. See, we have a great shepherd. We have a great shepherd that understands what we need. Because the better translation of that Hebrew word is, the Lord's my shepherd, I will lack for nothing. Meaning, a sheep would have a shepherd that would make sure that that sheep had everything it needed. It had safety, it had food, it was being cared for. Everything that that sheep needed, the shepherd took responsibility to make sure it lacked for nothing that it needed. We have a heavenly Father that knows exactly what you need. You have a heavenly Shepherd that knows exactly what you need. He also knows the things you want. Sometimes because of His grace, sometimes because He is so merciful and gracious to us, He gives us things we want, and that is such a blessing. As we get closer to Thanksgiving time, it's a time to reflect on those things. But that word actually means that He knows what we need, and He will make sure that we lack for nothing. So I want to encourage you today, as the old hymn says, count your many blessings, name them one by one, count your many blessings, see what God has done. Look around your life and see how the Lord has helped you lack for nothing. Because listen, if you woke up this morning and you're breathing, you got food, and you have people that love you and care for you, you have more than most in this world. So in this world, you lack for nothing. So be thankful, and then find a way that you can serve somebody else. Find a way that you can love somebody else with the things that you've been given, because you have a great Shepherd who knows exactly what you need and will make sure that you lack for nothing. God bless. Have a great day. Shoot me a message if I can do anything for you, if I can serve you in any way. Have a great day.
