Hey, good morning, everybody. As we continue our study of Romans 8, I want to read a passage that I've read in funerals numerous times. It's Romans 8, verses 35 through 37. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ, or tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, for your sake we are being put to death all day long. We are considered as sheep to the slaughter, but here, listen to this one, but in all things we overwhelmingly conquer through him who loved us. One of the reasons I read this passage in funerals is because it's a lot of pain. It's a lot of hurt, and sometimes we feel far from God. We don't feel like God is with us in the midst of our pain, especially if it's the death of a loved one that doesn't make sense, that it's not part of the script of a child burying an older parent, that kind of thing. You know, we get off that script, and we get confused. It's painful. It's hurting, and we need to be reminded that nothing, nothing can separate us from the love that Jesus has for us. Again, it doesn't mean it's not gonna hurt, doesn't mean it's not painful in the moment, but the one thing that we can hold on to is that no matter how painful it is, it doesn't separate us from the love that Jesus has for us. And I love verse 37 when Paul says, we don't just conquer that. In him, we overwhelmingly conquer. It's like a sports team that they don't just beat their rival by one touchdown, they beat them by four touchdowns. Like, it was never close. From the beginning to the end, you knew who was gonna win this game. They overwhelmingly conquered. That in those moments of pain and hurt and distress, we know that in Jesus, that's the key point, in Jesus, we can overwhelmingly conquer those things. So I want to encourage you today, if and when you go through something hard, you go through something painful and traumatic today, know that one, nothing can separate you from the love of Christ, and two, in that love, you can overwhelmingly conquer it today. If I can pray for it in any way, if I can do anything for you, please, please, just send me a message, let me know. God bless. Have a great day.
