In 2 Corinthians 1, verse 20, we read, for no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ. And this passage really came to life for my wife and I immediately after our son was born. He was born with three different heart defects and needed emergency surgery at just 10 days old, which you talk about a whirlwind introduction to fatherhood because we didn't know about this prior to him being born. It was something we found out in the hospital. So it was a shock to all of us and really set the stage for one of the most beautiful miracles that I've ever experienced. And leading up to his surgery, that's when I really started to feel overwhelmed. I started to have anxiety and stress and worry creep in and was just questioning God, you know, is this surgery gonna go well? Are there gonna be complications? Is my son gonna make it out on the other side of this healthy and whole? And I was reminded of this passage and reminded myself that, hey, if the promises of God are yes, then that means I can actually say no to the enemy. I can say no to worry. I can say no to fear and stress and anxiety. And I can say yes to healing over my son. Yes to freedom from worry. Yes to life and joy in Jesus' name. And I can say today that the surgery went well. Our son is amazing and healthy, all glory to God. And I wanted to encourage you with that today. When you start to feel those moments and those thoughts and those feelings creep in that contradict the promises of God, to stand firm in knowing that you can say no to the enemy in Jesus' name and declare yes over the promises of God on your life.
