Embracing His Peace, Day 8 The Beings, or the Background A majority of the Psalms were written by King David. Even though David made mistakes, struggled, and had a lot of life thrown in his way, the Psalms reflect his pure adoration and love for God. The Verse, Psalm 85, Verse 8 I will listen to what God the Lord says. He promises peace to His faithful people. But they must not turn to foolish ways. The Steem What does this mean to me and how can I apply it to my life today? I am currently on a journey of learning how to let go and let God. We've all probably heard the phrase a time or two, and genuinely think it is good advice. However, hearing it and actually living it out are two very different things. I've shared how I am guilty of praying about something, asking God to please take control of this situation or that problem, and no sooner have I said amen do I immediately start stressing about the situation again as I play out worst case scenarios in my mind. Foolishly, I believe that my worrying is actually doing something. I feel a false sense of control in a situation where I literally have none. Then, and here's the crazy part, I begin to get frustrated at God for not giving me His peace. I have to step back and remember that His peace is readily available. I am just choosing to return to my foolish ways, return to the nonsense of worry and dread, instead of just embracing His peace. What are you foolishly doing that is preventing you from feeling God's peace?
