Embracing His Peace, Day Six, The Beans, or The Background. In his letter to the Romans, Paul encourages believers on how to relate with one another. The verse, Romans chapter 14, verse 19, so let us do all we can to live in peace and let us work hard to build up one another. The steam. What does this mean to me and how can I apply it to my life today? Last Tuesday, I was driving out of my neighborhood to start my day. Coming around a pretty sharp corner, a parked car in my lane caused me to have to wait and allow a car to pass in the opposite direction. The driver of the other vehicle didn't wave, didn't smile, just kept on driving. And I couldn't help but feel slighted. I mean, a wave of appreciation certainly was not necessary, but I guess since I'm from South Carolina where you wave at people whether you know them or not, it just didn't sit well with me. My mood shifted a bit with the frustration. The very next day, on my way out, the exact same situation happened again. I had to pause to allow a car to pass in the opposite direction. The difference on Wednesday was the driver drove past waving and smiling. My mood instantly lifted as I smiled and waved in return. Last week, I shared how God uses other people to bring peace into our lives. Do not forget that He also uses us to be that angel in the life of someone else. Who can you offer peace to today? Are you doing everything you can to build up your spouse, your children, your friends, and coworkers? Never underestimate what Jesus can do through the power of a simple smile.
